This course offers an in-depth exploration of American/ British  literature from its inception to the Modernist period, examining key literary movements such as Romanticism, Realism, Naturalism, and Modernism. Through a critical study of selected texts, students will engage with the historical, cultural, and social contexts that shaped  both American and British  literature. The course will focus on major authors and works, fostering an understanding of themes such as race, identity, morality, and the American Dream. Students will develop critical reading, analytical, and discussion skills while exploring the complexities of American and British  literary traditions.
