This module is delivered as follows:  there will be 10 workshops taught face-to-face (roughly 30 hours). You will then have to dedicate more hours to independent study. There will be a variety of student-centred activities and exercises in which you will reflect on the way you learn and carry out both individual and group work to practise research skills.You will be given the opportunity to share your learning experience with your tutors and peers both face-to-face and online.

The intended learning outcomes are that on completion of this module you should be able to:

  1. Discuss the key concepts involved in developing a project plan for a dissertation or for a portfolio of professional practice.
  1. Retrieve literature relevant to the chosen subject or professional practice scenario and demonstrate the ability to undertake a critical review of such literature in order to frame the research question.
  1. Critically compare alternative relevant research techniques and evaluate their uses and limitations.

      4.Present a draft project plan, outlining its aims and objectives and demonstrating an understanding of validity, reliability and generalisability or relevant reflective practice considerations.
