Course Description

This course is designed to develop the academic writing skills of management students who are preparing to write their research theses or final projects in English. The course focuses on conventions of academic English in business and management contexts, providing the linguistic, structural, and rhetorical tools necessary for composing well-developed research-based writing. Through guided practice, models, and peer review, students will analyze management-related research texts and produce their own academic chapters such as introduction, literature review, methodology, and discussion.

The course includes a set of assignments related to each lesson, allowing the students to put into pracatice what they learned from each lesson and get supported and corrected by the teacher.Course Objectives

Upon successful completion, students will be able to:

1.       Demonstrate familiarity with the structure and conventions of a management thesis written in academic English.

2.      Formulate clear research problems, aims, and questions consistent with management research standards.

3.      Conduct and report a literature review synthesizing scholarly sources within their field.

4.      Employ correct citation practices (APA 7th edition) and demonstrate academic integrity.

5.      Describe research methodology accurately using discipline-appropriate language.

6.      Present data, discuss results, and draw conclusions using precise and academic style.

7.       Develop self-editing and revision strategies to improve the clarity, coherence, and formality of written work.

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs)

After completing the course, students will:

·       Write research-oriented texts with coherence, cohesion, and academic tone.

·       Produce chapters aligned with international thesis-writing conventions.

·       Demonstrate awareness of rhetorical patterns specific to management and business studies.

·       Integrate theoretical and empirical evidence effectively.

·       Present research ideas orally and in writing using professional Business English.
