Being able to differentiate between Legal English and General English is one of the key points that Law students need to know. It, also, involves being able to memorize and elaborate legal Terminology on International Law, and use it in the convenient context. In addition, this course aims to enable Law students to translate Legal terms from Arabic to English and vise versa.
Objectives of this Module
- learners will be able to memorize legal terms in both general Law and International Law using the material given.
- to be able to use the legal terms in dealing with legal bills and contract using Legal English effectively .
- to be able to Translate the legal English terms and texts successfully.
This Module will focus on
- introduction into Legal English (Two weeks)
1. General English vs Legal English.
2. Principals of Legal English.
- introduction into Legal Translation (Two weeks)
1. preface on Legal Translation.
2. Principales of Legal Translation.
- Legal Terminologies (Eight weeks)
1. Definition of the terms in relation to the filed.
2. Legal in English in use and context Translation of the Terms.
- Practice (Two weeks)
1. Exercises and practice of what it was seen in the lessons.
2. A project submitted.
