This course is addressed to third-year undergraduate students specializing in English. It explains what English for Specific Purposes is. It examines efficient methods for designing syllabus in English for Specific Purposes (ESP). The participants will gain knowledge on how to carry out a needs analysis, design a syllabus to suit the needs of the students, and implement an ESP method in any language course.  It also answers most of the questions students are likely to ask as they plan, draft, and revise their dissertations such as:

  • What does ESP mean?
  • What is the difference between ESP and EGP?
  • How can I design an ESP syllabus for a specific group?
