Course Description:

This course introduces key political science concepts in English. It helps students develop vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills related to politics, government, and international relations.



Course Outline (10 Sessions)

1. Introduction to Political Science – Definition, scope, and importance.

2. Power and Authority – Types of authority (Weber), legitimacy, and influence.

3. Political Systems – Democracy vs. authoritarianism.

4. The State, Nation, and Government – Characteristics and functions.

5. Political Ideologies – Liberalism, socialism, conservatism, nationalism.

6. Political Participation – Voting, representation, civil society.

7. Separation of Powers and Rule of Law – Executive, legislative, and judicial branches.

8. International Relations – Global politics and international organizations.

9. Public Policy and Governance – Policy process and decision-making.

10. Course Review – Summary and reflection.



Learning Outcomes:


By the end of the course, students will be able to:

• Understand and use key political science terminology in English.

• Read and analyze short political texts.

• Write short essays on political topics.
